Pulitzer prize winning author Jane Smiley and her trainer, Ellen Eckstein, shared information with Equine VIP about their books and commitment to horses. Ellen’s book “Bringing It Together” is a fascinating approach to a lighter and happier Dressage horse – something we strive for in all disciplines of riding.

Due to popular demand, Equine VIP revisited our Mounted Police Officers and their fabulous horses segment.  We’ve had so many requests to retell their story and hope our viewers who haven’t seen it, will give our hero’s your attention.

These officers love their jobs and their brave horses and are true Equine VIPS.  The National American Police Equestrian Competition is held annually and celebrates the year’s best horses and riders as they compete in equitation and obstacle classes. 

 The obstacles have to be seen to be believed!

Lyle Lovett joined other celebrity riders at this year’s Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) annual event to help children from the Make A Wish Foundation of Oklahoma. Lyle Lovett took home the winning ride for the second year in a row. Lovett, owner of reining, reined cow horses and race horses, took some time out of his busy tour schedule to ride for the charity.

Hardy Zantke is one of the biggest names in combined carriage driving in the United States. Equine VIP interviews Mr. Zantke to get a quick overview into the world of carriage driving from a true expert in the sport. Mr. Zantke is a Director of the American Driving Society and has also been the United States driving-team Chef d’Equipe at 11 world championships and international competitions. Equine VIP is honored to share the screen with such a dynamic force in the sport of carriage driving.

Equine VIP brings you behind the scenes coverage of the Grammy winner performing at William Shatner’s 20th Annual Hollywood Charity Horse Show. Ms. McLachlan’s performance helped to raise awareness and money for AHEAD With Horses, Camp Max Straus and other local children’s charities.

McLachlan kicked off her 2010 Lilith Fair Tour, the women’s music festival she co-founded in 1997, by performing her hits and songs from her new CD at the event.

William Shatner is always one of our favorite Equine VIP’s as he continuously shows off his passion for horses and support of numerous children’s charities.

David Yurman Jewelry has been a long time supporter of the star studded Hampton Classic Horse Show. Equine VIP got a chance to interview David showing off his own reining horse CHICKEN ENCHILADA, A.K.A, “Cluck,” and talk about his love of horses.  The pair participated in the Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) – an annual charity event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
